Jesus said, "the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has annointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind and to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

Della believes that it is our God given responsibility to allow God to dance His dances through us by His power to accomplish these very same things through the ministry of dance - to bring others into a more intimate relationship with God, to set the captives free - to be God's ambassadors of dance to the nations.

As the result of a mission trip to South Africa a desire was birthed to impart the apostolic dance to the church.  This unifying expression of worship involves the entire gathering, as it is spontaneously brought forth.  It is important to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit as we move as one mighty army of God.  It is during these times of worship and intercession that various signs, wonders, physical and emotional healings have occured.

Della has danced in congregational churches as well as taking teams and dancing solo in conferences, weddings, womens ministries and other settings and events.

Della is known as a teacher and preacher of God's word as well as a minister of dance.  Her seminars and workshops have been known to be true times of intimacy in worship, as well as inner healing and deliverance.

Some of her workshops and ministry include:
  • dance - a scriptural foundation
  • introduction to colors
  • types and styles of dance
  • banners, flags and billows
  • streamers and ribbons
  • symbols and numbers
  • interchangeable dance
  • apostolic and prophetic dance
  • purpose of the ministry of the dance
  • what happens in worship that we do not see
  • evangelism in the arts
  • visual gospel

Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.  When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,  and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.  It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word guidance.  When I saw "G:  I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".
"God, "u" and "i" dance."
God, you and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies be upon you on this day and everyday.  May you abide in God as God abides in you.  Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.
